The Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) is tasked with producing high-quality specialised reports on matters of current foreign intelligence interest to the New Zealand Government. To help us achieve this important work, we recruit people who enjoy research, translation and analysis.

We are looking for:

  • Proven aptitude in a second language.
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for acquiring new languages.
  • Research and analysis skills.
  • A good general knowledge and interest in international affairs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Our analysts work in a dynamic and challenging environment, so flexibility, maturity, strong customer focus and a sense of teamwork is essential.

This is a Wellington-based 12 month fixed term position with the possibility of becoming permanent. The starting salary is $46,000 - $50,000 p/a depending on skills and experience.
