Products and Systems Officer

The GCSB assists government departments and agencies with their secure communications. This role provides support for high quality cryptographic products and systems services.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated person who has an innovative approach to problem solving. Experience in the operation or support of high grade information assurance systems or an IT operations background is desirable.
You will have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, thrive on working as part of a small team with extensive reach, and be willing to promote the importance of good information assurance practices.

Research and Development Programmer

Appointing Remuneration Range: There are two levels available depending on the skills and experience you bring. Level 2 – $67,867 - $76,350 or Level 3 - $85,834 - $96,565
We are seeking a Research and Development Programmer to join the Technical Operations Unit at its Head Office in Wellington
As part of a small dedicated team you will be working on exciting and often unique projects which you will find challenging and intellectually rewarding. You will be exposed to a range of modern technologies and opportunities for career advancement and skill growth. You will be working in a friendly and supportive team of professionals where your efforts will be appreciated.
For this position you will be able to demonstrate recent programming proficiency with C/C++. Your commitment to writing high quality software and your initiative to solve problems will be among your greatest qualities.
Essential skills for this role are:
- C/C++ Development
- C# Development experience (or a willingness to learn)
- Development for the Windows platform using the Win32 API
- Modern revision control system usage (e.g. Subversion/Git)
- A good understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols
Desirable skills:
- Assembler level programming
- Reverse engineering
- System or driver level programming
- Perl
- Linux.
